privacy

Loreland is built to know as little about you as possible.

Location (Places)

Your location is used only to generate your story, in the moment you press Listen. We don't store your precise location or build a history of where you've been. We use Google's location services to find nearby places. We may collect anonymous, aggregated analytics — such as the city associated with a story — to help us understand how Loreland is used.

Images (Artifacts)

Your uploaded image is used to generate your story and kept only for as long as that story exists in your browser — so you can return to it later. It's never shared, uploaded elsewhere, or used for anything beyond generating your story. Clearing the image or starting a new story removes it completely.

Sharing

By default, everything you create in Loreland — your stories, images, and audio — stays only on your own device. If you choose to share a story, a copy of that specific story's transcript, audio, and (for Artifacts) image is copied to our servers so it can be viewed at a public link. Nothing is copied to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share.

A shared link is public — anyone with the link can view that story, without an account. Once created, a shared story is a permanent snapshot; later changes to your own copy won't affect it, and there is currently no way to remove a shared story once it's been created.

For Places, you may optionally include your general location (city and state only — never a precise address) on a shared story. This is off by default and only included if you turn it on when sharing.

For Artifacts, you may optionally include the notes you typed when generating the story — the context you gave to the AI. This is off by default and only included if you turn it on when sharing. If included, these notes are copied to our servers alongside the transcript and appear on the shared page.

Dreams

Your dream descriptions are used only to generate your story and are not retained afterward.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how Loreland is used — which features people try, whether stories are completed, and where people run into friction. This data is anonymous and not linked to your name or contact information unless you choose to submit feedback with an email.

Feedback

If you submit feedback, we keep what you send us — including your email address, if you choose to provide one — so we can read it and, if you've opted in, follow up about new features. We don't share this with anyone outside the Loreland team.

Voice preference

Your chosen narrator is saved on your own device and is never sent to or stored on our servers.

Loreland is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under that age.
